What Moses saw was more than any most any other human had seen, nonetheless was only a part of God\u2019s glory. What did Moses receive for the second time? When Moses broke the two tablets of stone, it symbolized that the Israelites had disobeyed, had broken the \u201ccovenant.\u201d What did receiving the stone tablets for a second time symbolize about the \u201ccovenant\u201d? Vs. 6-7: Memorize this: The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.\u201d Note especially v. 28.
