My meaning is, from the viewpoint of morality, which was more difficult? David had both opportunity and ability to harm Saul. \u201cVengeance\u201d comes easy; \u201cself-control\u201d is difficult. While it cannot be said that vengeance is unheard of in the Bible, the fact is that, especially in the New Testament, vengeance is not seen as a virtue, nor is it something that God smiles upon. \u201cVengeance is mine,\u201d says God in Deuteronomy 32:35; see also Romans 12:17-21.<\/p>\n

17. Whom do you and I today seem more like? Saul or David? In the depths of our hearts, do we wish to harm our enemies? Or, do we turn the problem over to God and await his time?<\/p>\n
